By that time you’re hooked and not ready to race back to a bus. When the doors to the Center open, you get a video presentation in one room and then enter the Apollo 8 and the Firing Room, which you don’t want to miss anyway. Using the app, I thought I could walk through exhibits and cherry pick what was more interesting. You can not walk and hop a returning bus as you must go through this Center. The tour drops you off at the Apollo Saturn 5 Center. It’s awe inspiring to be that close and experience the size of the buildings and machinery. Our driver was humourous and informative, and we had passengers from all over the world. The bus tour wait is made shorter by the TV screens above. I never knew there were so many astronauts. Scenes from Flash Gordon & the actual Robot from Lost in Space TV series alone would have been worth it for me, but the museum afterwards was equally interesting. It starts off with a multimedia presentation of our fascination with space. A good recommendation from the Information Desk reps was to see Heroes & Legends first, then the Kennedy Center Bus Tour. If this does happen, Guest Services building is close by and they quickly took care of crediting my card. For some reason, the system added an additional person after I entered 3. If you use the kiosk for your tickets rather than waiting in the long lines, double check the number of tickets before you hit Pay. Spend the entire day as it’s totally worth it even during the rainy Thanksgiving holiday. Don’t be like us and allow only 4 or 5 hours.
